Description

This three credit hour course examines how race, ethnicity, gender and class play a role in the treatment an individual receives while "participating" in the U.S. society and the justice system. Students are introduced to Critical Race Theory (CRT), a theory which challenges the ways in which race and racial power are constructed in U.S. society. Issues including affirmative action, property rights, and the social discussion of race are discussed. ELECTIVE
